Shooters World SBR Socom D063-01 Smokeless Gun Powder

Shooters World SBR SOCOM D063-01 Smokeless Gun Powder is a unique propellant with no direct equivalent. It burns faster than ACCURATE 1680 but slower than Winchester 296 or Hodgdon H110. Its gas generation rate is ideal for .300 Blackout, 7.62×39, straight-walled rifle cartridges, and especially for .458 SOCOM, where rapid conversion from powder to gas is crucial. SOCOM is particularly versatile, working well for both subsonic and supersonic applications in .300 Blackout.

In subsonic loads, SOCOM produces less residue than 1680, making it a cleaner choice, while in supersonic loads, it outperforms 296. Its performance with a 220-grain Sierra Match King bullet for subsonic applications is excellent. However, where SOCOM truly excels is with a 150-grain FMJ or hunting bullet, where other powders struggle. With SOCOM, the .300 Blackout can achieve near .30-30 Winchester velocities, reaching 2150 fps from a 16” barrel. This impressive energy level in a compact cartridge is a standout feature.

SOCOM’s burn rate and density make it a suitable choice for larger magnum pistol cartridges as well, such as the .500 S&W. Its gas generation rate keeps pace with the demands of these large magnum pistol bores, filling the need for efficient expansion ratios and bullet sectional densities. With a density of about 0.99 grams/cc, SOCOM ensures consistent, reliable performance. It also includes a flash suppressant and its spherical shape guarantees consistent powder drops, especially when using a progressive loader.
